Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Coil EN 10346

Hot dip galvanized steel coil EN 10346 is a high-performance metal anti-corrosion material that meets European standards. It uses a continuous hot-dip coating process to form a zinc-iron alloy protective layer on the surface of the steel plate. As a base material for industries such as construction, automobiles, and home appliance manufacturing, its excellent weather resistance and economy make it an ideal choice to replace traditional cold-rolled plates.

Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Coil EN 10346---the preferred solution for industrial anti-corrosion materials

EN 10346 is a technical standard for continuous hot-dip galvanized and zinc-iron alloy coated steel sheets and strips issued by the European Committee for Standardization, covering material properties, classification and application range.

‌Material classification‌ Based on the purpose and performance, common materials include ‌DX51D+Z‌ (for foundation structure), ‌HX500LAD‌ (high-strength low-alloy steel), ‌S550GD+Z‌ (for high-strength structure), etc.
‌Coating specification‌ The weight range of the galvanized layer is ‌80~275g/m²‌, which can meet the protection needs of different environments.
‌Surface treatment‌ Supports environmentally friendly passivation (such as flowerless galvanizing) and flowered galvanizing, which affects the appearance and post-processing adaptability.

    Production Process

    1. Raw material control and pretreatment
    ‌Raw material inspection‌---pickling and cleaning‌---surface pretreatment‌
    2. Galvanizing process

‌Galvanizing treatment‌: Immerse the pretreated steel coil in molten zinc at 430-460℃, and control the thickness of the zinc layer by air knife to form a uniform coating.

‌Cooling and post-treatment‌: After galvanizing, the zinc layer is solidified by air cooling or water cooling. Some processes add chromic acid passivation steps to improve corrosion resistance.
    3. Quality Inspection and Compliance Verification

‌Coating performance test: including zinc layer thickness measurement (zinc adhesion per unit area), bending test and salt spray resistance test.

‌Physical performance test‌: Test mechanical indicators such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, etc. according to EN 10346 requirements to ensure compliance with specific grade parameters such as S350GD+Z and HX300BD+Z.

‌Documentation and certification‌: Generate technical documents including production process parameters and test reports to complete the compliance declaration required for CE certification.
