China Steel Price Index Weekly Report Nov. 11-Nov. 15

From November 11 to November 15, China's steel price index fell slightly from the previous week. The long steel price index decreased, the plate price index declined somewhat, and long steel prices fell more than plate prices.

That week, China Steel Price Index (CSPI) was 97.71 points, down 1.17 points week-on-week, or 1.19%; down 1.78 points from the end of last month, or 1.79%; down 15.19 points from the end of last year, or 13.45%; year-on-year decline of 13.87 points, or 12.43%.

Among them, the price index of long steel was 99.99 points, down 2.01 points week-on-week, or 1.97%; down 3.11 points from the end of last month, or 3.02%; down 16.12 points from the end of last year, or 13.88%; year-on-year decline of 15.20 points, or 13.20%.

Plate price index was 95.99 points, down 0.56 points week-on-week, down 0.58%; down 0.79 points from the end of last month, down 0.82%; down 15.81 points from the end of last year, down 14.14%; down 14.10 points year-on-year, down 12.81%.

Sub-species point of view, compared with the end of last month, eight major steel varieties prices have declined, of which the largest drop for the rebar, the smallest drop for the hot-rolled coil.

The price of 16 mm diameter rebar was RMB 3,395/tonne, down RMB 129/tonne from the end of last month, a decrease of 3.66%;

5 # angle steel price of 3489 yuan / ton, down 69 yuan / ton from the end of last month, down 1.94%;

20 mm medium plate price of 3,588 yuan / ton, down 38 yuan / ton from the end of last month, down 1.05%;

3 mm hot rolled coil price of 3593 yuan / ton, down 21 yuan / ton from the end of last month, down 0.58%;

1 mm cold rolled sheet price of 4,192 yuan / ton, compared with the end of last month fell 36 yuan / ton, down 0.85%;

1 mm galvanized sheet price of 4,396 yuan / ton, down 57 yuan / ton from the end of last month, down 1.28%;

The price of hot-rolled seamless pipe with a diameter of 219 mm × 10 mm was RMB 4,444 per ton, down RMB 86 per ton from the end of last month, a decrease of 1.90%.

Diameter 6 mm high wire price of 3,568 yuan / ton, compared with the end of last month fell 127 yuan / ton, down 3.44%;

During the week, China's steel price index continued to dip and fall. After the National Day holiday, steel prices have been in a downward channel after surging higher. This shows that the steel market has returned to the fundamentals, demand into the traditional consumption off-season, the intensity of production has not significantly weakened, resulting in falling steel prices. At present, the market supply and demand pattern is relatively stable, it is expected that in the short term steel prices continue to show a strong trend of oscillation.
