In the production process, the aluminium content can be effectively controlled (Als controlled at 0.010%-0.015%) by adopting the aluminium-quenched steel production route, which not only helps to eliminate bubble defects in continuous casting billets, but also reduces costs. By optimising the rolling process, such as matching the amount of passes under pressure and optimising the rate of passes under pressure, it is possible to ensure the dimensional accuracy and side perpendicularity, so as to solve the problems of surface cracking and excessively poor side perpendicularity, and to improve the quality of the product.
This material is widely used for a variety of processing and forming requirements, such as the manufacture of cold rolled steel plates, wire rods, rebars, welded pipes and other products, due to its excellent plasticity and weldability, as well as good surface quality. In addition, SAE1006 flat steel is also used in stress relieving flat drawing and straightening machines, showing its advantages in specific applications.
