Production Process

1. Raw material preparation: The raw material is steel billet (carbon content 0.32%-0.38%) that meets the Q275 grade standard. It needs to be pre-processed by cutting, trimming and dust removal to ensure that the shape and size meet the rolling requirements. Some steel billets come directly from the continuous casting workshop, and the energy consumption is reduced by hot charging process.
2. Heating process: The steel billet is heated to 1100-1250℃ in a salt bath furnace or a step-beam heating furnace (the specific temperature is adjusted according to the thickness) to improve the plasticity. The heating process needs to be uniform to avoid excessive surface oxidation.
3. Rough rolling: After the oxide layer is removed by a high-pressure descaling machine, the billet enters the reversible rough rolling mill for multiple rolling passes to reduce the billet thickness to the intermediate specification.
3. Rough rolling: After the oxide layer is removed by a high-pressure descaling machine, the billet enters the reversible rough rolling mill for multiple rolling passes to reduce the billet thickness to the intermediate specification.
4. Finishing rolling: The final thickness control is completed by continuous rolling mill, and the finishing outlet temperature needs to be maintained above 850℃ to ensure the uniformity of the structure.
5. Cooling and coiling: The rolled plate is quickly cooled to 550-650℃ by the laminar cooling system and formed into steel coils by the coiler. The cooling rate directly affects the grain size and mechanical properties of Q275.
6. Finishing treatment: Flatten, trim or shear according to demand to obtain hot-rolled plate products of standard size. Some products need to be pickled to remove the surface oxide scale to further improve the surface quality.

Quality Inspection

The finished product needs to be tested for thickness tolerance (within ±0.3mm), tensile strength (≥490MPa) and elongation (≥18%), in accordance with GB/T 706-2016 standard. Metallographic analysis is performed on samples to ensure that there are no abnormalities in the structure.

Why choose it?
1. Perfect balance of strength and toughness
Through precise Mn and Si element ratio (C: 0.18-0.28%, Mn: 0.80-1.50%), a yield strength of 275MPa is achieved while maintaining an elongation of ≥24%, which is particularly suitable for dynamic load environments.
2. Excellent processing adaptability
Welding performance: carbon equivalent Ceq ≤ 0.40%, suitable for various arc welding and gas shielded welding processes
Cold bending performance: 180° cold bending test d = 2a without cracks (a is the thickness of the sample)
Cutting accuracy: flame cutting surface roughness Ra ≤ 25μm

Application

Machinery manufacturing field
High-strength parts: hot rolled steel sheet Q275 is used to manufacture mechanical parts such as gears, shafts, sprockets, keys, bolts, nuts, etc. that need to bear large loads. Their strength (tensile strength ≥ 490MPa) can meet the wear resistance and fatigue resistance requirements of industrial parts.
Agricultural machinery and conveying equipment: carbon steel sheet Q275 is used in agricultural machinery steel, conveyor chains and chain links, to meet the high strength and long-term operation requirements of agricultural machinery.
Building and bridge engineering
Structural support components: hot rolled sheet Q275 is used to make key load-bearing components such as bridge steel beams and building supports, replacing some high-quality carbon steel to reduce costs while meeting structural stability requirements.
Engineering connectors: such as bridge bolts, rivets, etc., using their good welding performance to achieve reliable connections.
Transportation equipment
Automotive parts: manufacturing thick-walled structural parts such as frame beams and chassis components, and the hot rolling process provides sufficient plasticity and forming adaptability.
Railway transportation: hot rolled carbon steel sheet is used to manufacture carriage structural parts or track support parts.
