Hot Rolled Steel Strip SS400

Hot-rolled steel strip SS400 is a carbon structural steel material widely used in the fields of construction, machinery manufacturing and industrial equipment.
As a classic grade in the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS G 3101), it has become one of the best-selling steel categories in the Asian market due to its excellent mechanical properties, high cost performance and processing adaptability.
This product is formed by high-temperature rolling process, with a unique blue-gray oxide layer on the surface, a thickness range of 0.8-25mm, and a width of 50-2000mm, which can meet diverse processing needs.

What is the production process?

Slab reception: Qualified continuous casting slabs are transported to the hot rolling slab warehouse by rollers or cranes, and the slab numbers are checked and received.
Slab heating: The slabs enter the heating furnace and are heated to the specified rolling temperature to ensure good plasticity and deformation during the rolling process.
Descaling: Iron oxide scale will form on the surface of the heated slab, which needs to be removed by a high-pressure water descaling device to ensure the surface quality of the strip.
Descaling: Iron oxide scale will form on the surface of the heated slab, which needs to be removed by a high-pressure water descaling device to ensure the surface quality of the strip.
Rough rolling: The descaled slab enters the rough rolling mill for rolling, and after multiple passes of rolling, an intermediate slab is formed.
Finishing rolling: The intermediate slab enters the finishing mill for further rolling, and is finally rolled into a strip of the required thickness.

Application
Construction field
Steel structure engineering: carbon steel strip is used for the manufacture of plant trusses, steel beams, steel columns and supporting parts, providing the bearing capacity of the main structure of the building;
Architectural decoration: processed into decorative parts such as railings, handrails, door and window frames, and achieved beauty and corrosion resistance through surface treatment;
Foundation engineering: making foundation fixing devices such as anchor bolts and embedded parts.
Mechanical manufacturing field
Equipment frame: As the frame structure material of machine tools, cranes, and conveyors, it bears the dynamic load during mechanical operation;
Parts processing: Manufacturing general mechanical parts such as gears, sleeves, and flanges through cutting, stamping and other processes;
Mold manufacturing: Ss400 steel strip is used for the frame and support structure of the mold to ensure processing stability.

Transportation field
Automobile manufacturing: Applied to automobile chassis, frame and body structure parts to meet safety and molding process requirements;
Railway and shipbuilding: Manufacturing track connectors, railway vehicle compartment structures and ship decks, bulkheads and other parts;
Aerospace: Steel dtrip is used for non-critical load-bearing parts such as aircraft fuselages and fuel tanks (special surface treatment is required).

Energy and power sector
Power facilities: manufacturing power tower frames, distribution cabinet brackets and wind turbine tower support structures;
Pipeline engineering: Hot rolled steel strip in coil is used in the manufacture of oil/gas pipeline brackets and some medium and low pressure pipelines.
Other industrial sectors
Storage equipment: Carbon steel strip in coil is used as load-bearing structural parts such as shelf columns and beams;
Heavy machinery: Hot rolled carbon steel strip is used for hydraulic press parts of engineering machinery, excavator bucket support plates, etc.;
Bridge engineering: participating in the manufacture of key structural parts such as bridge main beams and beams.

How to choose a high-quality supplier?
Check certification qualifications: confirm whether the supplier holds JIS factory certification.
Check inventory capacity: merchants with inventory are more reliable.
Compare processing services: preferably comprehensive service providers that provide laser cutting/slitting/surface treatment.
Ask about logistics timeliness: focus on regional warehousing layout.
