In 2019, China’s hot-rolled coil export volume reached 460,800 tons, an increase of 6.7% compared to 432,000 tons in 2018. 2. Asia and North America are the main export destinations of Chinese HRC. Among them, the Asian market accounted for the highest proportion, with an export volume of 226,000 tons in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%. Followed by the North American market, the export volume in 2019 was 79,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 17.2%. 3. The export price of China’s hot-rolled coils is greatly affected by fluctuations in the international market. In the first half of 2019, affected by factors such as steel tariffs and trade frictions, the price of hot-rolled coils in China fell. However, in the second half of the year, with the improvement of the international market, the price rebounded. 4. The main competitors of China’s HRC are Russia, Japan, South Korea and other Asian countries. In the export competition, Chinese enterprises mainly adopted the strategies of cost saving and quality improvement. 5. In the future, China’s HRC export market will face certain challenges. Factors such as the rise of global trade protectionism, excess steel production capacity, and environmental pressures may affect its export development.
