In the first week of January, the price of hot rolled coil (SPHC) increased by RMB 10 per tonne and the price of hot rolled coil (Q235B) increased by RMB 50 per tonne in the Shanghai market. Although only a little more than a decade has passed in 2024, the cold and hot rolled coil market shook significantly. After the first week, the price of 5.5 mm hot rolled coil (Q235B) made by Anshan Iron & Steel in the Shanghai market fell by RMB 10 per tonne, and the price of 1.0 mm cold rolled coil (SPCC) made by Baosteel Corporation fell by RMB 20 per tonne. At present, the price of cold rolled products is high relative to the overall price of hot rolled products. However, with the release of supply, cold rolled product prices are also at risk of correction.
Cold rolled sheet steel market prices in other regions of China were also mixed.
In early January, hot rolled coil market prices in East China rose by RMB 10 yuan/tonne to RMB 30 yuan/tonne, while cold rolled coil market prices were generally stable;
hot rolled coil market prices in Central and South China rose by RMB 20 yuan/tonne to RMB 60 yuan/tonne, and cold rolled coil market prices rose by RMB 10 yuan/tonne to RMB 50 yuan/tonne;
hot rolled coil market prices in North China rose by 10 yuan / tonne ~ 30 yuan / tonne, cold rolled coil market prices rose 20 yuan / tonne ~ 50 yuan / tonne;
Northeast hot rolled coil market prices rose 10 yuan / tonne ~ 30 yuan / tonne, cold rolled coil market prices fell slightly; Southwest hot rolled coil market prices rose 10 yuan / tonne ~ 40 yuan / tonne, cold rolled coil market prices were mainly stable; Northwest cold and hot rolled coil market prices basically stable!
During this period of time, the cold and hot rolled coil market transactions in general, downstream end-user purchases are basically based on just demand, steel traders have sales but not big. However, there are some positive factors in the cold and hot rolled coil market.
