What is the social inventory situation of steel in late January?

In late January, the social inventory of the five major types of steel in 21 cities was 8.66 million tons, an increase of 430,000 tons month-on-month, or 5.2%. The inventory has increased for 4 consecutive decades;An increase of 1.37 million tons, or 18.8%, from the beginning of this year; a decrease of 2.92 million tons, or 25.2%, from the same period last year.

North China is the region with the largest increase in social inventory.

In late January, in terms of regions, the inventory in the seven major regions increased to varying degrees, except for the Northeast region, which had a slight decrease.

The specific situation is as follows: Inventories in North China increased by 150,000 tons month-on-month, an increase of 13.4%, making it the region with the largest increase and growth rate;South China increased by 120,000 tons, up 6.9%;
The northwest increased by 70,000 tons, an increase of 11.1%;East China increased by 40,000 tons, up 1.7%;Central China increased by 30,000 tons, up 3.7%;The southwest region increased by 30,000 tons, up 2.5%;The Northeast region decreased by 10,000 tons, down 2.4%.

Rebar is the variety with the largest increase in social inventory.

In late January, social inventories of the five major types of steel increased month-on-month, with rebar being the largest increase.

The inventory of hot rolled steel coil is 1.55 million tons, an increase of 40,000 tons from the previous month, an increase of 2.6%. The inventory has increased for three consecutive decades; an increase of 110,000 tons, or an increase of 7.6%, compared with the beginning of this year; a decrease of 620,000 tons, or a decrease of 28.6%, compared with the same period last year.

The inventory of cold rolled steel coil is 1.12 million tons, an increase of 20,000 tons or 1.8% month-on-month. The increase in inventory has declined; an increase of 90,000 tons or 8.7% from the beginning of this year; a decrease of 370,000 tons or 24.8% compared with the same period last year. 

The inventory of medium and heavy plates is 1.06 million tons, an increase of 10,000 tons or 1.0% from the previous month. The inventory has increased slightly; it has increased by 120,000 tons or 12.8% from the beginning of this year; it has decreased by 170,000 tons or 13.8% compared with the same period last year.

Wire rod inventory is 1.05 million tons, an increase of 60,000 tons or 6.1% month-on-month. The inventory has increased for 5 consecutive decades; an increase of 220,000 tons or 26.5% compared with the beginning of this year; a decrease of 310,000 tons or 22.8% compared with the same period last year.

Rebar inventory is 3.88 million tons, an increase of 300,000 tons month-on-month, an increase of 8.4%. The inventory has increased for 5 consecutive decades, and the increase continues to expand; an increase of 830,000 tons, or 27.2%, compared with the beginning of this year; a decrease of 1.45 million tons, a decrease of 27.2% compared with the same period last year.
