On October 24, Brussels time, the World Steel Association (WSA) released global crude steel production data for September 2023. In September, crude steel output in the world's 63 countries and regions included in the statistics of the World Steel Association was 149.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.5%. In the first three quarters, global crude steel production reached 1.406 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.1%.

In September, from the perspective of blast furnace pig iron production, global pig iron production in 37 countries (regions) was 106 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.0%. The cumulative pig iron production in the first three quarters was 987 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%.
