Hot rolled steel sheet plate and hot dipped galvanized steel sheets, two common types of sheet metal, differ in their production processes.
Hot rolled steel sheet is made by heating a steel billet to a high temperature state and then going through multiple rolling and cooling stages. On the other hand, hot dipped galvanized steel sheet is made by applying a zinc layer to the surface of the hot rolled sheet for corrosion resistance and durability.
II. Aspects of nature
There are also differences in the nature of hot rolled steel plate and hot dip galvanized steel plate.
Hot rolled sheet has poor corrosion resistance because it is not protected by a coating, and is susceptible to chemical and water erosion, and is prone to rusting after long-term use.
Hot dip galvanized steel plate, on the other hand, can be manufactured with a zinc coating evenly attached to the surface of the steel sheet, effectively avoiding corrosion of the steel surface, with better corrosion resistance and durability.
III. Aspects of use
Due to the different nature of hot rolled sheet and hot galvanized sheet, they will differ in their applications.
Hot rolled sheet is mainly used in the manufacture of some low- to mid-range, mechanical and construction materials that do not require corrosion protection, such as steel bars, angles, beams, profiles and so on.
Hot galvanized sheet, on the other hand, is suitable for internal and external building materials, automobiles, electrical appliances and other fields that require corrosion protection. In some special occasions, hot rolled sheet and hot galvanised sheet can also be combined to make full use of their respective advantages.
In summary, although hot rolled sheet and hot galvanized sheet are both metal sheets, they have certain differences in process, nature and use.
In actual production and use, it is necessary to choose the appropriate metal sheet according to the specific needs and occasions to meet different application requirements.
