The steel industry is the pillar industry of Hebei Province. In 2022, the main revenue of Hebei's steel industry will be 1,562.2 billion yuan, accounting for 29.8% of the province's industry; from January to September this year, the added value of the steel industry has increased by 13.2%, accounting for 28.0% of designated industries.
In recent years, Hebei has resolutely implemented the important instructions of “resolutely removing, proactively adjusting, and accelerating transformation”, and the adjustment of industrial layout has achieved remarkable results. As of now, Hebei's steelmaking production capacity has been reduced from the peak of 320 million tons in 2011 to 199 million tons of active equipment, achieving the goal of controlling it within 200 million tons. The average furnace capacity of the province's blast furnaces is about 1,500 cubic meters, and the average tonnage of the converters is about 130 tons, which is at the leading level in the country. The industrial layout of steel along the Tielingang port has basically been formed.
Hebei promotes the transformation of the steel industry in the direction of "high-end, green and intelligent" and builds new competitive advantages in the steel industry. From January to September, the output of seamless steel pipes, cold rolled steel sheets, thick steel plates, extra-thick plates, and electrical steel plates among high value-added products increased by 50.98%, 45.7%, 34.3%, 33.6%, and 17.5% respectively year-on-year. Currently, there are 26 A-level enterprises with environmental performance and 34 national-level green factories, both ranking first in the country. The integration level of industrialization and industrialization in the province's steel industry is 64.5, ranking first in the province's manufacturing industry; the digitalization rate of production equipment and the networking rate of digital production equipment are 53.9% and 59.8% respectively, both higher than the national average.
By the end of next year, all steel companies will be covered by green factories
At present, due to the influence of downstream steel fields and industry consumer demand, the steel market is in a weak operating situation. However, in terms of high-end, the demand for high-end steel has continued to increase since the beginning of this year. Manufacturing industries such as ships, automobiles, and home appliances, and emerging industries such as wind power and photovoltaics have The number of industrial steel varieties continues to grow.
